Dacyczyn's book, "The Tightwad Gazette: Promoting Thrift as a Viable Alternative Lifestyle" (Villard, $9.99), is full of money-saving advice from someone whose goals you can admire. All this is by way of explaining that Ms. ![]() But what does she do with all the money she's earned? Does she take a cruise around the world? Buy a new car? No, she and her husband frugally set up irrevocable trust funds for their kids, give generously to local charities and renovate a 200-year-old house, which they rent for a modest sum to a woman and her three children who were homeless. Amy Dacyczyn edits the Tightwad Gazette, a newsletter with more than 80,000 subscribers, and has a new book out on being frugal. ![]() ![]() ![]() I was initially surprised at how big of a leap forward this book was for them. Stars and Stripes, I think, gives us a glimpse of what Abigail Roux has in store for this couple in the future. Their progression with each other just seems so well written and natural. I think it’s because of the way the characters of Zane Garrett and Ty Grady are allowed to grow with each other and individually with every book. I agree that this series has a cult like following in this genre. I literally read the first four books straight through and finished them about a month before Armed & Dangerous was released. Angela, what are your initial thoughts?Īngela: I started reading this series just this year on a recommendation. Stars and Stripes treats us to more of Ty’s family, introduces us to Zane’s family, offers some huge revelations, and what I felt was most important, this book felt like a giant positive leap forward in the relationship between Ty and Zane. I would say this series has developed an almost cult like following in the M/M genre, and Stars and Stripes is only going to add to the feverish love for the series and more than anything its two heroes Ty Grady and Zane Garrett.
